About this Blog
The purpose of this blog is to provide you, the participant, an opportunity to experience a conference presentation like no other presentation for which you have been a part. Instead of talking at you for an hour about blogging, I have designed this presentation in such a manner that sticks to the same constructivist spirit we promote at eMINTS. My goal is for this blog to help facilitate your learning and to guide you as you join the blogosphere.
Unfortunately, I could not be with you all today, but I figured if there was a presentation that could still be effective while the presenter was absent, this is the one. (Although, I’m sure you will be in good hands with Michele and Doug.)
Your part in the presentation is the most important. It will be divided into three parts: read the posts, comment on the posts, and write your own blog posts.
Skim through the posts and find the topics and/or resources that appeal to your needs and desire as a learner and facilitator the most. Read my posts and comment to further the discussion or clarify the points you can’t quite grasp. You can even return to see how others have commented on your thoughts and opinions.
Once you’ve explored this blog thoroughly, start your own blog! Post on how this session was helpful, how this approach could be improved or any other thoughts you have on blogging. The final post in this series will ask you to leave a link in the comments to your newly created blog.
Also, if you are interested, there are links to all of the resources I’ve used for this presentation on my del.icio.us account that can be accessed under the “links” field along the left side of the blog. Feel free to explore those resources as well, but don’t forget to start blogging before you leave this session today.
Good luck and happy blogging!
-Zac Early
